Located 52 kilometers south of Addis Ababa, Melka Kunture is an archaeological site where Stone Age tools, dating back 1.7 million years, and the remains of Homo Erectus, approximately 600,000 years old, have been discovered. Additionally, fossilized bones of hippos, rhinos, elephants, and various antelopes have been excavated from this site.
